Building Healthcare Solutions Together: Kitron & CellaVision Partnership

15 September 2026 Cases of Success

At Kitron, we provide top-quality electronics manufacturing services (EMS) for industries that demand precision, reliability, and strict regulatory compliance – including the medical device industry.

In this sector, we support CellaVision®, a global leader in digital hematology microscopy, by providing reliable electronics manufacturing, high‑level assembly, and advanced solution development for blood analysis.

Innovative Solutions Driven by a Successful Partnership

Our collaboration with CellaVision began in 2011 at Kitron Sweden in Jönköping. Since then, we have partnered closely to advance CellaVision’s mission to transform hematology diagnostics through innovation.

Founded in Sweden in 1994, CellaVision set out with a clear mission: to simplify, standardize, and digitize the manual analysis of blood cells in hematology laboratories. Today, their solutions automate workflows and advance diagnostic certainty across a wide range of labs, handling human and veterinary blood and body fluid samples with cutting‑edge technology.

CellaVision’s analyzers feature advanced optical and mechanical solutions, while Kitron contributes its expertise in electronics manufacturing, including PCB assembly and testing. Over time, our partnership has grown to encompass not only manufacturing but also warehousing, storage management, and direct shipping of finished products to CellaVision’s customers worldwide. This synergy enables us to deliver robust, high‑performance medical devices that meet global standards.

We are proud to stand as a trusted partner to CellaVision, backed by strong and unwavering competence in medical device manufacturing, delivering solutions that meet the most demanding market requirements.

A Milestone in the Partnership

A significant milestone of this partnership was the launch of the CellaVision® DC‑1 model in 2018 – a compact analyzer designed for smaller labs and point‑of‑care settings. The CellaVision DC‑1 analyzer can be used as a stand‑alone system in a small independent lab or in the satellite labs of a distributed laboratory network.

To perform a differential, a thin film of blood is spread on a barcoded glass slide and stained with a Romanowsky* staining solution. During slide processing, the analyzer automatically locates, digitally captures, and pre‑classifies cells, after which the operator verifies and/or modifies the suggested classification if necessary.

This project demonstrated our capability to handle high‑complexity products and deliver on time, reinforcing the strength of our collaboration.

Summary

The cooperation between Kitron and CellaVision demonstrates how strong partnerships can drive progress in healthcare technology. By combining CellaVision’s expertise in digital microscopy with Kitron’s manufacturing excellence, we continue to deliver solutions that make a difference in laboratories around the globe.
