Kitron is one of Scandinavia’s leading companies in the development and manufacturing of electronics for medical, defence/marine, data/telecom, and process industries. The company has various manufacturing locations in Norway, Sweden and Lithuania. At year-end 2007, the Group had a workforce of 1 300. It is certified in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 9002, AQAP 110 and AQAP 120 and the ISO 1400 series.
Development and Product Introductions
Kitron Development offers a broad range of services related to the development and industrialisation of electronic products. A team of Masters of Science undertake all types of assignments, ranging from simple development work to complete product packages – from concept to a prototype ready for series production in one of Kitron’s manufacturing plants. Each Task Force has a representative from Kitron Development, which promotes good interdisciplinary cooperation within the Group.

Microelectronics and Microwave Technology
Kitron Microelectronics offers the development, industrialisation and manufacture of thick film substrate and hybrids, resistors and resistor networks, Multichip Modules and Chip & Wire-based modules and systems. High-frequency microwave technology is an important area of activity in which Kitron Microelectronics is in the forefront of developments. Modern clean room facilities and 104 highly qualified professionals are a guarantee of quality.
Kitron Microelectronics has branches in Røros and Jönköping.
Manufacturing
Kitron’s Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) manages a broad range of processes within its chosen segments - ‘Medical,’ ‘Industry,’ ‘Data/Telecom’ and ‘Defence/Marine.’ Long experience and leading expertise, combined with modern equipment and plants make sure that product owners get competitive terms. Kitron’s manufacturing units offer modern facilities with a total area in excess of 50 000 sq.m. We offer good logistics solutions, and in many cases Kitron delivers the products directly to the end-user. Kitron’s manufacturing units have cutting edge expertise in the area of high frequency microwave technology, military manufacturing, installation of high volume printed circuit boards and electronics for use in defence equipment.
Kitron EMS has branches in Arendal and Karlskoga.
Kitron has also set up a low-cost alternative in the university town of Kaunas in Lithuania. Labour intensive manufacturing is transferred to this plant which has been built to Scandinavian standards. Completed in 2002, it is certified in accordance with relevant standards and is run in the same way as Kitron’s other manufacturing units.
